Topic 4:  Celebrating African-American Scientists and Inventors Through Hands-On Science

Program Description:
This empowering workshop is designed to introduce, highlight and reinforce the important contributions
made to science and technology by African-American scientists and inventors. The workshop features
hands-on science demonstrations, with Historical Perspectives on the scientists and inventors that
influenced the science behind these experiments. The goal of this workshop is to provide teachers with
resources, strategies and best practices on how to integrate the contributions of African-Americans into
their Science Core Curriculum.

Target Audience: Grades K-8 & 9-12         
Duration: 2 hours, Half day or Full Day Workshops
