Topic 4: Celebrating African-American Scientists and Inventors
           Through Live Science Demonstrations

Program Description:
This empowering assembly program is designed to introduce, highlight and reinforce the important
contributions made to science and technology by African-American scientists and inventors. The
workshop features science demonstrations, with Historical Perspectives on the scientists and
inventors that influenced the science behind these experiments. The ultimate goal is to provide
students with a solid understanding of some of the contributions made to science and technology
by African-Americans scientists and inventors.

Target Audience: Grades K-8 & 9-12         
Duration: 60 – 90 Minutes
