Reading, Writing...and Rap

PRIME students join in the act as Grand Hank (rear), a.k.a. Tyraine Ragsdale, performs his educational rap lecture “Afro-American Scientist” at the PRIME/Franklin Institute Family Camp-In in March. Ragsdale, a chemist for R.W. Johnson Pharmaceutical Research Institute, uses rap songs as a teaching tool to stress the importance of education, science and technology, black history and self-respect to youth.
