Program Description:
The Science of Philadelphia (SOP) is a live and
interactive television series presented in
collaboration with the School
District of Philadelphia. The show is designed to increase the interest
and enrollment of students in the areas of science and technology by presenting
them in ways that are exciting, entertaining, and fun. The series is
co-hosted by Grand Hank and Ambra Hook from the School District of Philadelphia's Office of
Curriculum Support for Science Education.
Program Format:
Each week Grand Hank and Ambra Hook
present students with lessons and experiments developed around the National
Standards for Science Education. The series is interactive, allowing
students to call in with their questions and responses to the material presented
during the show.

Target Audience:
Elementary and Middle School students
and cable subscribers in
the Philadelphia and surrounding areas.
Broadcast Networks:
Comcast Cable, Time/Warner, Urban Cable Network and
School District of Philadelphia Cable Network

Channel 8 (public schools) and
channel 52 (cable subscribers)
